Click the Apple menu > About This Mac. Your model identifier and year will be shown.

Bottom Case

Flip your MacBook over. The model number (A1xxx or A2xxx) is printed in small text near the regulatory info.

Original Box

Check the barcode label on the original box. The model number is listed next to the serial number.
